The Adventure Recreation Orientation Program

The Adventure Recreation Orientation (ARO) Program serves as Adventure Recreation's staff training and development program. For 8-10 weeks students will learn outdoor leadership and technical skills in areas such as backpacking, caving, paddling, and rock climbing. Completion of this program qualifies students to work as Adventure Recreation Guides. New positions will be opening for the Spring 2015 semester. If you are interested in being a part of the Adventure Rec team, contact Program Intern, Christina Spohn (adventurerec@athletics.psu.edu, 814.863.2895) for more information.

The ARC is equipped with a full line of outdoor gear available for rental; a resource library of outdoor-based books, periodicals, magazines, maps, and DVD's; and state-of-the-art trail mapping and trip planning resources.
