This spring and summer, the McCoy Natatorium will undergo renovations designed to increase security, to improve energy conservation by replacing single-pane windows, to remove asbestos tile, and to provide more green space in the West Plaza (main entrance).
* Beginning April 28th, the Natatorium hallways and office spaces will be retiled and/or recarpeted. This project is expected to finish by mid-August. Please pardon our appearance during this renovation.
* Beginning May 6th, the front plaza will be under construction. The main entrance will remain open as long as possible, but will at some point have to be closed to accommodate construction. The lower entrance from the back parking lot will be used for much of the summer.
* The Parking Lot behind the Natatorium will be closed and reserved for construction/service vehicles. Only the one ADA spot will remain open, for those with the appropriate Penn State parking placards. Visitors to the Natatorium are encouraged to park in the East Deck and follow directional signs to the lower entrance near the outdoor pool.
* Security card readers, alarms and cameras will be mounted throughout the Natatorium. Locker rooms and entrances at a future date will require swipe card access at certain times of the day. More information on how this will work will be made available as details are worked out.
We thank you for your understanding during the construction.
