The White Building Pool, which opened during Spring Semester 2001, is a 25 meter, 5-lane lap pool, accompanied by a spa. The pool is located downstairs adjacent to the Fitness Center. The Pool temperature is maintained at approximately 82 degrees, whereas the spa temperature is approximately 104 degrees Farenheit. The locker rooms located by the pool are considered family locker rooms (parents may bring their minor child of opposite gender in them). To use the White Building pool, you must be a Penn State student, faculty or staff member with the appropriate membership or single admission pass.
Swimming pool hours may vary. Please visit the "hours" page located here. Certain evenings have dedicated time/space reserved for adult and youth group swimming lessons. These are posted online. Private swimming lessons, offered by Penn State Aquatics staff, may occur throughout the day and into the evening depending upon instructor availability and customer scheduling. As such, these are not scheduled and will not appear on the hours page. Please understand that one or more lanes may be in use for private swimming lessons. These generally last 30-40 minutes.
Please note: For your safety, if NO lifeguards are present the pool will be CLOSED
Please note that the Faculty/Staff Fitness memberships DO NOT include swimming pool use. Faculty / Staff wishing to swim should purchase a separate Semester/Annual Membership which will be valid at both the Natatorium and White Building indoor pools.
The pool is open to faculty, staff and students with a valid PSU ID+ card and an appropriate membership or single admission pass. (See PSU Policy AD73). Those without a valid PSU ID card (such as those with "Community" swim passes) are not permitted to use the White Building Pool. Admission prices are listed below:
All pool passes/memberships must be presented to the attendant on the pool deck.
Faculty / Staff Semester and Annual Memberships will be recognized at both McCoy Natatorium and White Building Indoor Pools.
