MAJOR PROGRAM CHANGES for 2012 - 2013 ...

PUBLIC ACCESS to RECREATION FACILITIES ... POLICY AD73

please allow additional time for your arrival to an intramural contest when held within a university recreation facility.  PSU ID+cards will be required upon entry to the buidling AND, as always, at your IM game.

TEAM ENTRY FEE ...

increased to $45 per team from $40.

MANDATORY MANAGERS MEETINGS ...

will be held for 3 team sports this year : Football, Basketball & Soccer. These MANDATORY meetings will be held on the last day of entry at 5:30pm in gym 3 IM Bldg.  Each team must have ONE representative present at the meeting. Team rep should know the name of your team and the division you signed up for ! Don't be late - doors close promptly at 5:30pm.

FOOTBALL:     Thursday Sept. 20   5:30pm, gym 3 IM
BASKETBALL: Thursday  Dec. 13   5:30pm gym 3 IM
SOCCER:         Thursday Mar. 14   5:30pm gym 3 IM

OFFICIALS (background checks required)

the university now requires a BACKGROUND CHECK for all prospective employees. This adds 6-10 days to process your forms.  Officials should apply 2-weeks prior to the start of a season.

COACHES & SPECTATORS ...

will be held accountable for their conduct on the sidelines and any problems will penalize the team they represent. Failure to comply will result in forfeiture of the game and additional team penalties. If you have "fridge" people at your game - keep them under control or ask them to leave the area.

ALCOHOL / CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE POLICY ... added to IM General Rules

The possession and or consumption of alcohol or controlled substances are strictly prohibited in all Recreational Sports facilities and during all Intramural games. This policy applies to all Intramural participants, coaches and spectators. Any participant, coach or spectator under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances will not be allowed to participate or attend in any Intramural activity. They will be asked to leave the facility immediately and are expected to comply. Further disciplinary action may be taken if the participant or spectator is not compliant with the directive to leave.

WOMEN playing on a MEN'S TEAM is no longer permitted ...

Women are permitted to play on a Women's, Co-Rec, or Residence Hall team and, when offered, an Open team. They cannot play on a Men's or Fraternity team.
