PROGRAM CHANGES for 2009-2010 ...

ADDITIONAL FIELD SPACE will mean MORE TEAMS ...

We are gaining some additional outdoor field space on top of last years addition in the IM Park Ave Field area. We are prepared to expand team entries for our outdoor sports including soccer, football and softball.

WOMEN playing on a MEN'S OPEN TEAM ...

We have made it an intramural wide rule that women can play on a men's open team WITHIN LIMITS. The limit is ONE woman may be playing on the field/court at a time for a team in a men's open league.  More than one woman may be on the roster but only ONE playing at a time.

INDIVIDUAL PLAYER FEE increase...

The fee to play individual sports (tennis, racquetball, wrestling, etc...) has been raised 1 dollar to $6 per player.

MINIMUM NUMBERS OF PLAYERS PER TEAM ...

The minimum number of players required to field a team before a default will occur has been changed for all team sports. Soccer, Football, Dodgeball, Basketball & Arena Football can play with 2 less players than usual.  Volleyball & Softball can play with 3 less than usual.

GENDER BALANCE MUST BE MAINTAINED within 1 player for any coed division.  Example: coed football team playing with 7 players must have 4 women & 3 men OR 4 men & 3 women (cannot play with 5 & 2)

TOTAL NUMBERS OF PLAYERS ADJUSTED ...

Arena Football has been increased to 5 vs. 5 (from 4 vs. 4).
Soccer is 7 on 7 (except coed will remain 6 vs. 6)

SPECIFIC SPORT RULES ...

Review the IM Sport Rules. Small changes have been made to many of them.
